What's in a Basin Fixing Kit?

A basin fixing kit contains the hardware needed to mount a wall-mounted basin securely to the wall. A typical kit includes brass bolts or threaded rods, wall plugs, rubber grommets, metal washers and nuts — everything required to fix the basin bracket or the basin itself to the masonry or stud work behind the tiles. Kits are sold separately from the basin so that fixings match the wall type: solid masonry and stud walls call for different anchors, and having the correct hardware on hand avoids a second trip to the merchant on installation day.

Using the Right Kit

Check the basin manufacturer's installation guide before ordering, as some wall-mounted basins specify the bolt diameter and length. If fitting a new basin, you will also need a basin waste, a basin trap and, if the basin has an overflow hole, an overflow cap.
