What Is a Wall Hung Toilet?

A wall hung toilet has a ceramic pan fixed to a steel carrier frame hidden inside a stud wall or chase — with no floor contact and no visible cistern. Every wall hung installation requires a concealed in-wall cistern frame, which carries the full weight of the pan and houses the cistern flush with the finished wall surface. Wall hung pans differ from back to wall toilets in that the pan has no floor contact — the carrier frame transfers all load through the wall.
