Which Shower Enclosure Shape Fits Your Bathroom?
Bathroom Republic stocks over 740 shower enclosures across four main shapes and three finishes. The shape you choose depends on the corner configuration of your bathroom and how much floor space is available for the tray. Chrome, matte black and brushed brass frames are available across most shapes and sizes.
The Four Enclosure Shapes Explained
- Quadrant shower enclosures — curved corner fit: A quarter-circle shape that sits into a 90° corner. The curved sliding door makes the most of a tight space and leaves more bathroom floor exposed. Available in 800mm × 800mm and 900mm × 900mm as standard.
- Rectangular shower enclosures — widest internal showering space: A rectangular footprint that runs along a straight wall or into a recess. The wider stance gives more elbow room than square or quadrant options. Sizes typically run from 1000mm × 700mm up to 1200mm × 900mm.
- Square enclosures — equal sides, symmetric layout: A square footprint where width and depth are equal — typically 800mm × 800mm or 900mm × 900mm — for symmetrical bathroom layouts where the tray sits in the corner without one side projecting further than the other.
- Offset enclosures — wider entry on a corner tray: A modified quadrant where one side is longer than the other — for example, 1200mm × 800mm — giving a wider opening and more internal space while still fitting into a corner.
Sliding vs Hinged Doors — Which to Choose
Sliding doors run on a track and open without swinging into the bathroom — the right choice when floor space in front of the enclosure is limited. Hinged doors open outward and need clear floor space to swing into, but provide a wider, unobstructed entry. Bi-fold doors fold inward against the enclosure frame — useful in very tight spaces where neither sliding nor hinged is practical.

Bathroom Republic runs a clearance range and seasonal sale on enclosures throughout the year. Enclosures clearance carries discontinued and end-of-line stock at reduced prices. Enclosures on sale shows current promotional pricing across in-range models.
Complete Your Shower Installation
An enclosure needs a shower tray and a valve to function. Pair yours with shower trays matched to your enclosure footprint, and a shower set including valve, head and handset. Bathroom Republic also stocks shower valves separately if you're replacing the enclosure only.
