Choosing the Right Shower Tray
A shower tray must match both the shape and dimensions of your enclosure exactly — a 900mm × 900mm enclosure requires a 900mm × 900mm tray, and a 1200mm × 800mm rectangular enclosure requires a 1200mm × 800mm tray. The main decisions are shape (square, rectangular, quadrant or offset quadrant), height (standard or low profile), material (stone resin or acrylic) and whether a waste fitting is included. Bathroom Republic stocks 98 shower trays in white and slate grey across all standard sizes, available with and without waste sets.
Five Tray Types — Browse by Shape and Configuration
- Low profile shower trays — 30–52mm high; sit closer to floor level for a more open, accessible feel. Require space beneath the floor to accommodate the waste trap.
- Square shower trays — equal-sided (800mm × 800mm or 900mm × 900mm); pair with square, corner entry or sliding door square enclosures.
- Rectangular shower trays — asymmetric dimensions (e.g., 1200mm × 800mm); suit alcove enclosures and larger rectangular configurations.
- Quadrant shower trays — quarter-circle shape; required for standard and offset quadrant enclosures.
- Shower tray and waste sets — tray with a matching waste fitting included; removes the need to source the waste separately.
Stone Resin vs Acrylic Shower Trays
Stone resin trays are cast from a mixture of stone aggregate and resin. They are heavier and more rigid than acrylic, warm underfoot and available in slate grey and other non-white finishes. Acrylic trays are lighter, less expensive and available in a wider size range. Both materials require a waste fitting — check whether it is included or sold separately before ordering.
