Brushed Brass Shower Enclosures — About the Finish
Brushed brass is a warm, satin gold finish applied to the enclosure frame, door handles, hinges and bottom channel. The brushed texture is created by directional polishing that leaves a fine-grained, non-mirror surface — distinct from the reflective quality of polished gold or chrome. The result is a warm gold tone that reads softly in natural and artificial light without the intensity of a fully polished surface. Many brushed brass enclosures use a PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) coating, where the colour is bonded at a molecular level and produces a harder-wearing surface than standard electroplating. Bathroom Republic stocks 87 brushed brass shower enclosures across quadrant, walk-in, sliding, bi-fold and pivot door configurations. Glass specification and installation dimensions are the same as equivalent models in chrome or matt black.
What Brushed Brass Works With
Brushed brass pairs most consistently with other brushed brass brassware — taps, basin mixers, shower valves, heated towel rails and cabinet handles — creating a coordinated warm-metal scheme throughout the room. It works particularly well alongside cream, stone, terracotta or warm grey tiles, where the gold tone of the frame reinforces the warmth of the palette. In purely white or cool-toned rooms, the warm gold can read out of place unless supported by warm-toned accessories elsewhere. On maintenance, the brushed texture is more resistant to visible fingerprints than polished gold but should be cleaned with a soft damp cloth — abrasive cleaners can damage the surface coating.
