What Is a Corner Basin?

A corner basin is designed to sit diagonally across a 90-degree corner, using wall space that would otherwise go to waste. The basin is usually triangular or D-shaped when viewed from above — the flat edge faces the user and the pointed section tucks into the corner behind. Corner basins are most often used in cloakrooms and compact en-suites where every centimetre of floor space matters; by fitting into the corner they free up the centre of the room and give it a more open feel. Most models in this range are white vitreous china with a single tap hole, in widths from around 330 mm to 400 mm. Installation is wall-hung, so the waste outlet drops straight down behind the basin and there is no pedestal to clean around.

What to Check Before Buying

Confirm your corner is a true 90-degree angle — older properties can have slightly off-square corners, which leaves a visible gap at the back of the basin.
