What Is a Concealed Cistern and Frame?

A concealed cistern and frame is a steel wall-mounting frame with an in-wall cistern unit that sits inside a wall void or against a studwork frame, hiding the WC flush mechanism completely. Once tiled, only the flush plate is visible on the surface. Bathroom Republic stocks 26 concealed cisterns and frames in chrome, matte black and brushed brass, compatible with back-to-wall and wall-hung toilet pans.

Frame heights typically range from 820mm to 1130mm adjustable, allowing the pan height to be set during installation to suit the user. Most units are dual flush — 3/6 litre or 4.5/6 litre — conforming to UK water regulations. The frame and cistern are purchased separately from the pan and flush plate.
