What Is a Bath Screen?

A bath screen is a fixed or hinged glass panel fitted at the showering end of a bath to contain water — replacing a shower curtain with a solid, stay-in-place barrier. Unlike a curtain, a glass screen holds its position when the shower runs, doesn't contact the bather, and wipes clean without mould risk. Screens are available as single fixed panels, hinged designs that swing inward or outward, multi-fold folding screens, and curved versions shaped to fit the wider end of a shower bath. This range of 37 screens includes chrome and matt black frame finishes, and heights from 1350mm to 1500mm. All are constructed from toughened safety glass.

Sizing and Fitting

Bath screens are sized by height and panel width. Standard heights run from approximately 1350mm to 1500mm, with panel widths typically from 700mm to 900mm depending on the bath end opening. Hinged screens open either over the bath or outward into the room — check the hinge direction against your bathroom layout before ordering, particularly if the bath sits in a corner. Most screens fix to the wall with a bracket system, and the bottom edge rests against the bath rim with a rubber seal. Keep the seal in good condition to prevent water escaping; bath screen seals are available separately.
